Golfing a Love Story at Chico Theater Company – Chico Enterprise-Record

What can go wrong on the grounds of a stuffy country club? Audiences can find out by seeing the Chico Theater Company’s upcoming comedy March 4-20 in Chico. Written by Ken Ludwig, one of America’s most performed playwrights, this farce, “A Fox on the Fairway,” is full of wit and humor.

Directing this must-see comedy is Randy Ross. He is the Operations Manager of Chico Theater Company and is excited to bring the best entertainment to Chico. He is assisted by CTC producer Marc C. Edson and stage manager Olivia Alcantara.

“It was a pleasure to work with local actors who really bring this show to life,” Ross said. “This show is about two rival golf courses holding a tournament every year to determine who gets bragging rights as the ‘best golf course and club’. One course steals the best player from the other club and it takes off from there. It’s a comedy of errors and it’s non-stop laughs and fun!

‘The Fox on the Fairway’ is a show about love, life and the man’s undying love affair with – golf (and daughters) Henry Bingham (Marc Edson), chairman of the Quail Valley Country Club, is in a difficult position when he learns that his newly hired arm, Justin Hicks (Justin Dougherty), is in love with Louise (Sierra Lawler), the waitress at the club house.

Instead, he discovers that the golfer he thought he could play for his club’s championship game has switched sides. He was recruited by Bingham’s counterpart and adversary, the arrogant and arrogant Dicke (Eric Rickets). Already desperate by this event, the appearance of Bingham’s wife, Muriel (Sandy Huseth), complicates the matter. She surprises him far too close to Pamela (Kathy Robinson), his sex-starved vice-president. What else could go wrong?
