Lee Tartt Nature Reserve
There are many places to enjoy outdoor activities in Mississippi. Tishomingo State Park and Clark Creek Natural Area are among the most popular destinations for outdoor enthusiasts. However, there are several other sites that don’t get their due – and the Lee Tartt Nature Reserve is one of them. Most locals don’t know about it, but that doesn’t mean it’s not worth knowing. It’s the opposite, in fact. One of Mississippi’s best-hidden spots, it offers a wealth of recreational opportunities and an abundance of natural beauty.

But the shady refuge does not only attract paddlers. It also attracts a variety of turtles, frogs, fish and reptiles.

Plant life is just as abundant as wildlife, which means there are plenty of insects, including butterflies.

Keep in mind, however, that you must bring your own canoe or kayak. In addition, groups of more than 6 people must have a permit to paddle.

Trails vary in length from half a mile to 1 mile.
The perfect place to enjoy an array of outdoor activities in Mississippi, Lee Tartt Nature Preserve is sure to become a favorite destination! The Lee Tartt Nature Reserve is open daily from dawn to dusk. Need to contact the reserve? Call (662) 230-0368. Like Lee Tartt Nature Reserve on Facebook for updates on events, activities and more.
This is just one of the natural attractions in Mississippi that make it on your to-do list. There are so many others, including Tara Wildlife.
